I am a singer / songwriter from Canada - born in the central Newfoundland town of Botwood. I learned to play guitar before I was twelve (I actually started on a friend's guitar that only had one string and I was devastated when he bought the other five strings - it was hard enough to master the one). I seem to remember always writing songs. Later I earned a teaching degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and became involved with educational technology - an avenue that allowed for artistic expression. While teaching labs in educational technology, I met and later married my dream girl, Sandra (nee Blakey) who now sings backup on several recordings. Growing up in the era of Gordon Lightfoot, Simon and Garfunkel, Kris Kristofferson, and others helped shape my writing style.
In 1991, Sandra and I tried a recording session with a good friend, Andrea Cannon, a music teacher, and we have worked together ever since. A lot of our efforts is reflected in the albums on this site.
As a young musician, I paid my dues playing on the road at many different venues with a band called 'Triple Alliance'. The band had a loyal following until I decided to end playing on the road and get married instead. Later, as I studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses, I discovered that my musical interests grew in another area so that I begin to write songs that reflected my new spiritual views. Of course, today, I still enjoy writing secular music as well.
